Leather Wallet - Things to Consider
68Wallets are something that men use pretty much everyday. When it comes to an item that gets so much use then it is worth, like with a wristwatch, investing in one that is not only built to last but is stylish and sophisticated as well. A leather wallets tick these two boxes quite nicely. Leather is a very durable material, but it is also a classic and renowned luxury material that wouldn’t look out of place in the pocket of a millionaire.
Leather Wallet – The One for You
When selecting a leather wallet you will soon come to realise that you can get them in all shapes and sizes, colors and style. From a personal point of view, I don’t like a wallet that is too fat and therefore sticks out of my pocket too much. I try to carry as few plastic cards with me as possible so not to bulk out the wallet too much. Therefore, I don’t require a lot of card holding slots, however you may be different.
I carry my change in my pocket so I have no requirement for the wallet to have a section for coins. You will often find that such as section is more common on a ladies leather wallet anyway. The final feature I look for in a transparent window so I can carry pictures of my other half around with me. If a mens leather wallet meets these criteria for design I will then consider the two other important factors.
Color and Leather Quality
Leather is one of those interesting materials that varies greatly in look and feel and therefore cost and quality. There is certainly something special about running your fingers on a smooth backing of luxurious Italian leather than really shines out quality. Sure, this is likely to cost your more money, but this is a worthwhile investment and you will notice that the more money you spend the better quality wallet you will be able to get and the longer it will last you. The other great thing is that leather only improves with age so you will find that mens leather wallets are often well loved, well used and well worn. The material softens and moulds to its contents and its weathered look only adds to its appeal.
The color you go for will depend on personal taste. Where traditionally it would be expected that you would find a black or brown wallet there are now all of the colors of the rainbow available. The is due to a dye added during the tanning process, which is part of the procedure that leather goes through when it is being treated.
A leather wallet is really a great option also for a gift whether it be a Christmas present or birthday present. Just consider if the person who is you are buying the wallet for already has a leather one, as if they have it is likely that they have become quite attached to it, even if it may look a bit battered to you, a leather wallet will have a special place in the heart of its owner.
