Leather purses are a great way to keep your coins together so you are not forever hunting around your handbag for those odd pennies when paying at the counter in the corner store. A well made, good quality purse is bother practical and fashionable, with many purses these days carrying more than just coins. Whilst you may have a zip section for your coins, you will probably find a good number of slots for carrying credit cards, pockets for receipts and transparent windows to carry around photos of loved ones.

There are some important things to remember when looking are purchasing a leather purse to make sure you get the best one you can for your money, that will last you a long time.

  1. The Quality of the Leather
    The best leather is widely thought to be Italian leather as this is often the type with the finest scent, the most consistent grain and the softest feel. A purse that is made out of a fine quality leather will last be more durable that cheaper ones that have a tendancy to crack, peel and even rip.
  2. Zip, Button Catch or Fastening?
    The type of closure mechanism you have on your purse is important. This is what will ultimately stop you coins and cards from falling out all over the place each time you remove it from your handbag to pay. If you consider how many times over the life of you leather coin purse it will be used you want to make sure that it will stand up to the constant use. Ideally a zip will keep everything together, but sometimes a button catch is more aesthetically pleasing. Go for what suits you but just check that it will remain strong and not leave you with a floor full of coins every time you prize it open.
  3. Stitching
    Good quality leather products are usually stitched rather than glues and you want to look for strong, tight stitching that will remain strong for many years. Double stitching around tension points and exposed seams is very useful and a further sign of a hard wearing product.

The fact that it is common does not make it any less desirable as there is a certain elegance and style associated with a sleek black leather purse housed within a designer handbag. Alternatively many designers now release matching purse, wallet and handbag sets to you can get a nice consistent look to your accessories.

A good quality, well made, fine leather purse is a very nice gift whether for yourself or someone in your family. The great thing about this as a gift is that it is something that will actually get used and last a long time, unlike so many pointless gifts that there are nowadays.
